Low Speed Alarm DC Input Axial Fans - MDA Series

Low Speed Alarm DC Input Axial Fans - MDA Series

Low Speed Alarm DC Input Axial Fans - MDA Series

The MDA Series features a built-in alarm circuit that the host controller can recognize if the fan speed drops. This is important for noticing quick drops in the cooling capacity of the fan caused by the end of the service life of the fan or by ingress of a foreign object.

The MDA Series is available in frame sizes from 2.44 in. (62 mm) up to 5.51 in. (140 mm). Lead wire and connector types are available.

  • Low Speed Alarm Type
  • 12 VDC, 24 VDC or 48 VDC
  • Connector or Lead Wire Types
  • Fan Kits available

Low Speed Alarm DC Axial Fans

Low Speed Alarm Types

An alarm is output when the fan speed drops due to the service life of the fan or ingress of foreign objects. This makes it possible to order and replace the fan with a new one before it stops.

If multiple cooling fans are being used, it is possible to only replace the cooling fan with decreased cooling capacity. Even if the cooling capacity of the fan decreases, the effect on the equipment can be minimized.

Easy-to-Connect Fan Types Available

We have a cable with a connector for easy connection in addition to the standard lead wire type.

The connector type fan can reduce wiring.

Maintenance is also very easy because the fans can be replaced just by disconnecting the connector.

East Connect

Use the MDA Series in the Following Scenarios:

When a Spare Fan is Installed

An alarm is output when the fan speed drops. As a result no spare fan needs to be installed.

When Multiple Fans are Installed

Since multiple fans are installed, you cannot identify which fan is failing when the cooling capacity decreases. With the MDA you can identify which fan is failing because an alarm is output. As a result, only the fan with the low speed can be replaced.

Thermostat Available for Energy Saving

Thermostats (sold separately) make it possible for fans to operate only when cooling is necessary. Thermostats provide energy-saving by automatically stopping fans for example, at night, when the amount of heat generation declines following the load rate's decline in equipment, or in winter, when the ambient temperature drops and forced cooling is not necessary.

Thermostats automatically perform ON/OFF fan control in accordance with the temperature fluctuation inside the equipment. It helps improve the equipment's "environmental" performance relative to energy savings, noise reduction, etc.

Finger Guards

Finger Guards

Finger guards prevent fingers or foreign objects from entering the fan. Finger guards are mounted to the fan frame using bolts.

Filters

When using a fan to cool machinery, dust may accumulate inside the machinery after long periods of operation. Depending on the parts involved, this could cause a malfunction. These filters prevent dust from entering the device, keeping the air inside the machinery dust free.

Screen

Screen

Fans are used to cool or ventilate electronic devices that may generate electromagnetic waves. These waves can escape from the fan cooling holes, causing interference to computers and measuring instruments. The screens allow the passage of air but block electromagnetic waves.

The screen is a durable magnetic shield using a stainless mesh fixed to an aluminum frame. Screens are easily attached to the fan using screws.
