Proposal to shorten equipment reset time

Issue: Need to reduce the time and effort required to return to the origin position after releasing the emergency stop

Because the system uses external sensors to detect movement and return to its home position, the time required to restore the equipment is limited by constraints such as sensor sensitivity and the home positioning procedure.

Challenge:

• It takes time to detect the origin point while sensing limit sensors and origin sensors.
• Returning to the origin from a position far from the origin takes time.
• IIf return-to-home is incorrect, the load may interfere with the equipment and cause damage.

The system detects the origin point while sensing limit sensors (±LS) and a home sensor (HOME).

Solution: Even after an emergency stop, operation can immediately resume from the stopping position

By using the αSTEP AZ series/AZ series equipped electric actuators, position information is retained even if the power is cut off or the cable between the motor and driver is disconnected during positioning operation. In the case of types with built-in positioning functions, positioning operation can be resumed without returning to the home position in the event of an emergency stop or power outage on the production line.
