Case Study of Measures Against Outdoor Digital Signage Blackouts

Issue: Digital Signage Outdoors Blackout Due to Temperature Rise Inside Enclosure

Challenge:

  • Need to avoid display blackout (a phenomenon in which part of the screen turns black) due to temperature rise inside the enclosure

Solution: Cross Flow Fan MF/MFD Series Preventing Temperature Rise and Contributing to Reducing the Risk of Blackouts

MF Series Cross Flow Fan

By using a cross flow fan for air circulation to cool the display, temperature rise and the risk of blackouts in digital signage can be reduced.

Specific Application Examples

Wide Fan for Even Cooling of Cramped Spaces

Cross flow fans are compact and rectangular in shape. This makes it ideal for enclosures such as digital signage that are not thick but wide in width. It cools a wide range of LCD surfaces uniformly.

Fan Status Can be Monitored

Also available with a pulse sensor that outputs a signal of 2 pulses per revolution while the fan is being driven. By checking for changes in pulse signals, the status of the fan can be constantly monitored. This is ideal when 24-hour operation is required.

Contributes to Predictive Maintenance Measures

Fans with low-speed alarm which outputs an alarm signal when the rotation speed of the fan deteriorates due to ingress by foreign particles are also available. This helps with predictive maintenance of equipment issues, as fans can be ordered and replaced before equipment is damaged by heat.
