August 24, 2026 – Oriental Motor is pleased to announce the release of the MVC01 Mobile Robot Controller, a compact controller designed to simplify the development and operation of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). By handling vehicle motion calculations internally, the MVC01 reduces the number of ROS nodes and custom programming required, helping accelerate software development and system integration.
The MVC01 controls AGVs and AMRs using commands from a host controller, enabling simplified vehicle control through basic speed commands while handling drive kinematics within the controller. Dedicated PC software supports parameter configuration, system setup, and status monitoring, helping from initial commissioning through ongoing maintenance.
To improve positioning performance, the MVC01 features a built-in IMU that combines gyro data with motor encoder feedback to output gyro odometry for enhanced position estimation and slip detection. The controller is designed for use with BLV Series R Type Brushless DC Motors and Drivers, providing a compact and lightweight solution for space-constrained mobile robot applications.
