Achieves reliable load holding and position monitoring without using an external battery (battery-free), even in limited space.

We are adding a new compact, lightweight 28 mm frame size model with an electromagnetic brake to our lineup of stepper motors equipped with battery-free absolute encoders.

  • Due to its compact and lightweight 28 mm frame size, it can be installed in limited space within equipment.
  • When there is a blackout or another unexpected event, the electromagnetic brake holds the load in position to prevent it from dropping.
  • Equipped with a battery-free absolute encoder, it performs position monitoring without the need for an external battery (battery-free).
    Home sensors, limit sensors, etc. are no longer necessary, contributing to space savings and reduced wiring.

With the electromagnetic brake, the load can be held when the power is cut off.

These products have built-in power-off activated electromagnetic brakes. When power is accidentally cut off due to a blackout or other unexpected events, the electromagnetic brake holds the load in position to prevent it from dropping or moving. Also, when the motor is at standstill, it can be held by the electromagnetic brake. It is possible to suppress the heat generated from the motor by turning off the motor current.

  • By using an electromagnetic brake to hold the load when stopped, there is no need to run a stop current through the motor, reducing motor heat generation while maintaining position.

(Usage Example)

  • [1] Input the STOP-COFF Signal* to stop the motor
    • *STOP-COFF Signal: A non-excitation signal to stop the motor
  • [2] Motor excitation is turned OFF, the electromagnetic brake engages, and the load is held.

Applications

Ideal for applications where you want to prevent the workpiece from falling or the axis from shifting when the power is OFF.
