Oriental Motor Expands CVD Series with New Multi-Axis EtherCAT-Compatible Stepper Motor Drivers

New 2-axis and 4-axis models provide greater flexibility for multi-axis configurations and installation requirements.

October 6, 2026 – Oriental Motor U.S.A. Corp. is pleased to announce the expansion of its CVD Series of multi-axis EtherCAT-compatible stepper motor drivers with five new models. The expanded lineup includes four new 2-axis drivers, available with or without a mounting plate and with straight or right-angle connectors, along with a new 4-axis driver with a mounting plate and straight connectors.

The new models provide greater flexibility when configuring multi-axis motion systems, while consolidating communication and power wiring for connected axes into a single driver. The CVD Series supports both 2-phase and 5-phase stepper motors and uses EtherCAT communication to enable synchronous operation across multiple axes.

The CVD Series also helps reduce host controller costs and programming time through functions such as automatic electromagnetic brake control and direct encoder data import. With multiple connector and mounting configurations available, the expanded lineup provides additional options to accommodate different equipment designs and installation requirements.

• 5-Phase Stepper Motors PKP/PK Series
• Note: Motors with encoder voltage output and open-collector output are excluded.
• Motors with input currents from 0.5 to 3.0 A* per axis can be connected.
• *4-Axis Driver: Max. 12 A per driver; 2-Axis Driver: Max. 6 A per driver
